Melton Course: Rhythms and Purposes of Jewish Living (Room 110)
February 7 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
This Melton course will examine a wide variety of Jewish sources to discover the deeper meanings underlying Jewish holidays, lifecycle observances, and Jewish practice. It will meet at Shir Ami on Thursday mornings from October 4 to May 16, and will be taught by Rabbi Rebecca Reice and Cathy Schechter.
Melton classes, created by the Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, combine ancient and contemporary texts with an interactive style of learning in a pluralistic setting to engage adults in the study of Jewish thought, culture, theology, history, and ethics.
For more information, contact Cathy Schechter (Cathy.Schechter@shalomaustin.org) or Rabbi Reice (rabbi@shir-ami.com).
